Brian McMaster

Brian McMaster is a born-and-raised North County musician. Growing up, he played in church bands, beginning on drums at twelve and eventually moving to his preferred instrument: guitar. Having experience in live musical environments, he understands the distinct role the guitar (electric and acoustic) plays in a group, and lends his expertise to beginning and advanced players alike. He is also a songwriter, producer, and session musician, writing and recording music for other artists, producers, filmmakers, and ad agencies. 

His approach to teaching is to first understand each student’s individual joys and goals, observe where they are in knowledge and technical ability, and equip them to grow confidently toward their goals with the appropriate knowledge, understanding, and technical savvy to exceed their expectations. Ideally, you will walk away with tools to help pull out what your creative ear and imagination are hearing. 

When he is not playing music, Brian enjoys surfing and hanging out with his wife and two kids.
